Please see below for a note from our councillor Diane Deans:
Community safety has always been a priority for me and for the residents of Gloucester-Southgate Ward. In light of recent events, I have requested the presence of Police Chief Charles Bordeleau and our East Division Police Officers at a Community Safety Meeting to be held on Wednesday November 27th from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Greenboro Community Center located at 363 Lorry Greenberg Drive.
This meeting will give residents the opportunity to discuss their concerns directly with our Police Chief and East Division Police Officers. Residents will also learn more about the measures that the Ottawa Police Service is currently undertaking to resolve these ongoing issues. I have attached the meeting invitation for your review.
Presentations begin at 7:30p.m. followed by a question and answer period.
Please know that I share your concerns about community safety, and work hard to make our neighbourhoods a safe place to live. I would like to encourage you and your neighbours to attend the public meeting and look forward to working closely with Ottawa Police to resolve this matter.

Planning a yard or garage sale at your place in South Keys Greenboro this year? We hope you’ll help us turn it into an event by doing it together!
Your Community Association introduced the first annual neighbourhood Sale Day in South Keys Greenboro last year, and we’re pleased to announce its return in 2013! On Saturday, May 11 2012, we’re encouraging everyone who’s planning a yard sale for this year to get out there and make a deal. We’re promoting this special day on our Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages, so you’ll want to take advantage of the extra foot traffic passing through our neighbourhood.
Please be sure to list your sale at our Sale Day in South Keys Greenboro event page so that people will know that you’re open for business. And tell your friends to visit our community on Saturday May 11!
Our Annual General Meeting will be held tomorrow, Wednesday February 20, at 7:30pm at the Greenboro Pavilion, 14 Tapiola Crescent.

Please join us tomorrow if you’d like to be nominated or to vote for this year’s Board. Thank you!
Yes, our third annual Winter Carnival at Pushman Park is this Monday – Family Day!
Tell your neighbours and bring your friends on Monday, February 18, from 11am to 3pm. We’ll have hockey skills competitions, games and activities in the snow, horse-pulled sleigh rides, a chili cook-off, bonfire singalong, hot chocolate and coffee, and lots more!
We’re also pleased to have our friends at the Dunlop Parent Council and the 36th Ottawa Sparks on hand to sell homemade treats and Girl Guide cookies throughout the day. Bring a few extra loonies and toonies to score some delicious goodies and support causes at work right here in South Keys Greenboro.
Admission to the Winter Carnival is $5 for kids aged four and up. Your five dollars covers unlimited participation in all of the games and activities we have planned for the day. Adults and little ones three and under are free! All proceeds will go to benefit the South Keys Greenboro Community Association and its programs.
