Association meeting tomorrow evening

Your local Community Association meets tomorrow, Wednesday May 16, at 7:30pm at the Greenboro Pavilion, 14 Tapiola Crescent. All are welcome to attend!

This month’s agenda includes updates from the city councillor’s office, a consultation with an arborist on the emerald ash borer problem in our parks and on our city streets, a discussion on opportunities to create new Association programming, and early planning for this year’s Canada Day bike parade, which was a huge hit with neighbourhood kids last year.

About Community Association meetings

SKGCA meetings are open to the public, and we are always looking to recruit volunteers, particularly as members at large to provide occasional support for planning or at events. Can you lend a couple hours a month to your Community Association this summer? Drop in tomorrow night at the Greenboro Pavilion to chat with us and get involved.

We welcome you to join us to discuss the issues and developments that matter to all of us living in the South Keys and Greenboro neighbourhoods of Ottawa. Hope to see you there!

Cleaning the Capital in South Keys Greenboro

Join your neighbours and members in the Association as we do our part during the City of Ottawa’s Cleaning the Capital weekend! Cleaning the Capital is on Saturday April 28 2012

Meet us at the Greenboro Pavilion on Tapiola Crescent at 9:30am on Saturday, April 28 for a morning of clearing litter and debris from our neighbourhood public spaces. Specific clean up plans have not yet been created, but we’ll likely work to clean up the area around the Pavilion, the walking paths nearby, and Pushman Park. If we get a good number of volunteers for this event, we’ll aim to spread our net wider and clean up even more of South Keys Greenboro.

Garbage bags and other basic supplies are provided by the city, but it’s a good idea to bring a pair of work gloves and a bottle of water or two.

If there is a specific problem area for litter near you, please feel free to assemble a team of helpers and let us know that you’re going to do a clean up – we’ll mention it here and encourage others to join your team!

More information on Cleaning the Capital can be found on the City’s website.

Please let us know that you can attend by RSVP’ing to this Facebook event. Questions and suggestions can be left in the comments area on Facebook, or via any of our usual contact methods. Thank you!
